מהנעשה בעמק – והפעם, Downhill Brothers.
האחים עיון (12) ונואי (9), שניים מילדי העמק שלנו, משוגעים על אופניים ובמיוחד על downhill – רכיבה מהירה במורד ההר.

הם קוראים לעצמם Downhill Brothers, מאתגרים את עצמם שוב ושוב בנוף הפרוע של הרי דרום פורטוגל, ואפילו בונים את המסלולים שלהם בעצמם. בחודשים האחרונים עבדנו ביחד, חברים ומשפחה, כדי להגשים להם חלום ולשלוח אותם לאליפות העולם לדאונהיל לנוער באוסטריה.

עיון, שפעם בקושי נגע במחשב, התחיל ללמוד איתי עריכת וידאו כדי לעשות לעצמו סרטונים וערוץ יוטיוב. הוא קלט את זה במהירות ועכשיו עורך קליפים גם לחברים שלו, למסגרות הקהילתיות ועוד.

הוחלט לעשות סרט לקמפיין מימון, ולמשימה הצטרפה ורוניק, עורכת מקצועית שפרשה מהמקצוע ונרתמה למשימה בהתלהבות. ורוניק צילמה וערכה, עיון ערך את קטעי האקשן, אני כתבתי את התסריט. מיגל, אבא של האחים (וגם הגיס של הגיס שלי!) הפיק וגם אייר. כולנו ביימנו.

Ayun (12) and Nui (9), two of our valley’s kids, are die hard biking fans and especially downhill biking – which is, yes, fast riding down the steep hills of the Algarve.

They’re The Downhill Brothers. They even build their own tracks.
In the recent few months we’ve been working together, family and friends, to fulfill their dream and send them to the downhill world youth championship in Austria.

Ayun, who was never into the laptop really, asked me to teach him some basic video editing. He got it almost instantly and started working on action clips for him and for his biker friends, his community groups etc.

So we went crowdfunding – and we were lucky to have Vero – a friend, neighbour, and x-professional editor who was happy to film and edit. Ayun edited the action clips, I wrote the script, Miguel (father of the brothers) produced, supported and even drew the chalkboard travel map. We have all directed.
